MAREEBA Turf Club will be abuzz with lights, food, fun and Christmas carols this Sunday with the annual Carols by Candlelight to light up the night sky.

Brought to you by Mareeba Rotary with the support of local businesses, Carols by Candlelight will host a line up of local talent singing all the Christmas favourites.

Performers such as Dennis Rose and Leesa Gray, Brendan Wright, Jolene and Justene Ross, the Mareeba State School Auslan Choir, plus dances and performances by Rowena Petersen and the Mareeba Theatre Group will all entertain on the night.

Carols by Candlelight gives the community a chance to celebrate the start of the festive season with a fun community focused night out.

Santa Claus himself is set to make an appearance before finishing off his list in time for Christmas.

Candles will be for sale with all proceeds going to the Mayors Christmas Appeal.

Mareeba Rotary member Stephen Gear is encouraging everyone to come out and show some Christmas spirit with the community.

“It’s for all ages and it’s a nice family night,” he said.

Gates open at 6pm with the carols starting at 6.30pm. For more information visit Rotary Mareeba on Facebook.
