FOR the first time ever, Mareeba residents have been given the opportunity to see all the thrills and spills of the Great Moscow\ Circus as it rolled into town last week.

Everything from acrobatics, trapeze artists, extreme high wire, dare devil motorcycle cage riders and much more have been entertaining attendees of all ages over the past five days.

The Great Moscow Circus’ Marketing Manager Mark Edgley said it’s a brand new show that can be enjoyed by everyone.

“I want to remind circus-goers that this is The Great Moscow Circus “extreme” show, which gives it that real wow factor,” he said.

“We were in Atherton four years ago, but this show is completely different as we have brand new performers doing the high wire, trapeze, wheel of death and globe of death among many others.”

Mr Edgley said Mareeba is the first leg of The Great Moscow Circus’ northern Australian part of the tour, with it to be followed by Port Douglas and Cairns.

“This is the first time we’ve visited Mareeba and there’s a real excitement starting to build around town,” he said.

“We’re expecting to see strong numbers on hand and I think there will be a lot of people coming through the gates via word of mouth.

“It is certainly a circus not to be missed.”

For those interested in attending, The Great Moscow Circus is located at the park on Byrnes Street opposite Coles.

The circus concludes on August 4. Remaining schedule for The Great Moscow Circus: Thursday August 1 – 7pm, Friday August 2 – 7pm, Saturday August 3 – 3pm and 7pm and Sunday August 4 – 11am.
