Mysterious Candidates appear.

With the closure of nominations for candidates on October 11, several runners snuck in at the last minute to put their hand up for the upcoming state election.

In the seat of Cook Stephen (Steve) Goulmy has been nominated as a candidate by Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party (UAP).

The mysterious Mr Goulmy appears to be Brisbane based builder and renovator with no address in the Far North. No number is listed for Mr Goulmy and several requests by The Express to talk to Mr Goulmy failed.

Another contender for the seat of Cook is the Green’s candidate Ms Deby Ruddell who lives in the Daintree. While a press release arrived announcing Ms Ruddell’s nomination,  a request to the Queensland Greens Media Department from The Express to speak with Ms Ruddell directly about her nomination was met with a “she is too busy this week, maybe next week.”

Another late runner is Mr Chester Tuxford 77, retired and living in Mt Garnet who is running as an independent for the seat of Hill.

Mr Tuxford ran as an independent for Hill in 2017 garnering 243 votes, he also ran for the seat of Kennedy in the 2013 Federal Election. Mr Tuxford did return our call but admitted that his phone did not always work and that he had no website, social media presence or working email and he could not supply a photo.

The Queensland state election is October 31.
