Nate Moule: Mareebas superhero passes away
Mareeba’s Nate Moule tragically passed away last Tuesday, 15 December after a three year long battle against a malignant brain tumour, surrounded by his loving family until his last moment.
Mareeba’s four and a half old hero, Nate Moule, tragically passed away last Tuesday, 15 December after a three year long battle against a malignant brain tumour, surrounded by his loving family until his last moments.
Diagnosed in October 2018 Nate has been fighting since his diagnosis and received overwhelming support from his family and the wider community.
Nate even underwent several surgeries at the hand of world renowned neurosurgeon Dr Charlie Teo over his three year fight.
Unfortunately Nate could fight no more and peacefully passed away in Mareeba Hospital last Tuesday while his favourite song, ‘somewhere over the rainbow’ played in the background.
Nate’s mother Katie wanted to thank everyone that has been a part of Nate’s journey.
“I didn’t realise until yesterday (Wednesday) the impact his life has had on our little community,” she said.
“The loss is quite profound in the community; there are a lot of people that are going to miss my little boy.
“Nate hated hospital so in his time since his diagnosis he’s only had 13 nights in hospital and he didn’t want to spend another.
“We did our absolute best to save his life, we did all we could.”
Katie was able to care for Nate at home and until his final hours, he only spent six hours in hospital before he passed away.
