Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) have advised that there is a bushfire in Irvinebank approximately 18 kilometres west of Herberton.

The fast-moving bushfire is burning in inaccessible land near Herberton Petford Road in the vicinity of Jumna Dam, Irvinebank. The fire is travelling in a westerly direction and at this stage is still at advice level.

According to QFES “10 crews are on scene working to contain the fire through back burning and water bombing with the hope of saving the Irvinebank Homestead”.

People in the area will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality. Properties are not under direct threat at this time.
