Show bag aisle a hit with kids

KIDS all across Australia will still get a chance to experience show bag fun, thanks to a Mareeba local.
After Mareeba IGA’s Grocery Manager, Morgan Ninness wanted to “put a smile across the faces of kids Australia wide” IGA stores nationwide are now stock- ing the most sought after bags.
“There weren’t any shows on this year so I decided to create this massive aisle called the ‘show bag aisle’ and fill it with the unused show bags,” she said.
Mareeba IGA now has an aisle dedicted to show bags and has kicked off a nationwide ‘show bag isle’ craze.
IGA stores all across the country have now repurposed one of their isles to hold unused show bags from several companies that have now been left without a market with shows being cancelled.
Each store will only sell the show bags while stocks last and with so many of the stores reporting huge sales, the show bags aisles become bare quickly.
New orders have been placed however with ‘The Fast and The Furious’ and ‘Stranger Things’ show bags up next on the buy list.
“The reception has been really good we’ve had massive sales in it, the supplies we have been getting have only lasted a couple of weeks,” said Ms Ninness.
“You see customers walk in and they go, oh my god show bags, and it’s really great to bring that climate back into the community.”
