An Atherton grandmother is planning on spoiling her grandchildren after winning a share of division one in Saturdays Gold Lotto.

The Far North Queenslander held one of the 12 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4051 on Saturday, May 16 2020. Each entry won a division one prize of $410,606.71.

When an official from the Lott broke the news to the winning woman, she had been oblivious to her good fortune.

“How much!?” she yelled with excitement.

“I can’t believe it. Oh my god!

“Truly? Oh my god.

“I had no idea, none at all. Oh wow. I cannot believe it.

“I’ve been marking my entries for a really long time. They’re birthday numbers and that kind of thing.

“I’m shaking. I can’t stop shaking. This is just unbelievable.

“My family won’t believe me when I tell them this. My grandchildren will be rapt!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, all she could think of was her family.

“I will be able to help out my grandchildren. They’ve always been so good to me, so I am looking forward to being able to spoil them a little bit.

“Apart from that, I’m that excited I cannot think! This news is just unbelievable.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning marked 4-game entry at Summers Newsagency, 25B Main Street, Atherton.

Summers Newsagency owner Helen Williams said she was so excited for her local winner.

“This is fantastic news!” she exclaimed.

“It’s been six years to the day since we’ve sold a division one winning entry, so the timing is incredible.

“We’ve sold six division one winning entries over the years and we’re thrilled for our latest winner.

“Congratulations to her!”
