Three weeks after the 2020 local elections some electorates are still without a declared mayor.

Three weeks after the 2020 local elections some electorates are still without a declared mayor.

Queensland's electoral commissioner says that technical issues experienced during the count for local government elections are "unacceptable".

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she was "pretty disappointed" by the bungle.

"They've got one job … to make sure they can run an election," she said.

 

The Electoral Commission has declared the following winners as of April 18:

AURUKUN - Keri Tamwoy (55.49%)

CAIRNS - Bob Manning (66.53%)

CARPENTARIA - Lyall (Jack) Bawden (70.80%)

CROYDON - Trevor Pickering (61.60%)

COOK - Peter Scott (53.76)

DOOMADGEE - Jason Grant Ned (23.11%)

DOUGLAS - Michael John Kerr (54.93%)

ETHERIDGE - Barry Hughes (64.93%)

HOPE VALE - Jason Woibo (33.58%)

KOWANYAMA - Robbie Sands (63.21%)

LOCKHART RIVER - Wayne Butcher (48.23%)

MAPOON - Aileen Addo (76.09%)

MAREEBA - Angela Toppin (53.06%)

NAPRANUM - Janita Motton (40.22%)

PORMPURAAW - Richard Tarpencha (38.69%)

TABLELANDS - Rod Marti (48.02%)

TORRES STRAIT ISLAND - Phillemon Sereako Mosby (50.00%)

WUJAL WUJAL - Bradley Creek (52.87%)

 

The Electoral Commission is yet to declare the winners for the following three mayoral elections:

❌ CASSOWARY COAST - Mark Nolan 38.47%; Bryce Macdonald 36.69% (76.23% counted)
❌ TORRES SHIRE - Vonda Malone 37.82%; Yen Norman Loban (Snr) 35.82% (70.73% counted)
❌ YARRABAH - Ross James Andrews 31.74%; Percy Neal 19.11% (74.52% counted)

 

All data was correct as of April 18, 11 am
