Ready Vet in Atherton, launched the course last week and said it will allow pet owners to be able to better understand any issues with their furry friends.
The ‘Advanced Pet Healthcare’ course is now live and available to members of the public.
The course is perfect for locals in the pet industry, or those just looking to better understand their pet when in need.
Created by Ready Vet Co-Owner and Registered Veterinary Nurse, Cat Robinson, the course will cover a range of subjects that will better help pet owners differentiate between a sick/injured pet and an anxious/stressed pet.
Mrs Robinson said that this kind of information could not only save you a lot of time at the vet, but it could also save your pets life.
“You will be better equipped to identify issues and emergencies early, saving you time and money in the long run,” she said.
“This course will enable you to identify anything from subtle signs of pain right through to life threatening situations.
“This is another wonderful opportunity for those working in the pet care industry to add value to their service by advocating for pets that need supportive care and exercise.”
Patient examination, measuring vital signs, basic CPR and administering first aid including wound flushing and basic bandaging are just some of the skills that you could learn through this course.
Mrs Robinson is encouraging local pet owners to get involved and expand their knowledge so that they can better help their pets.
“Many pet owners want to take a proactive, hands-on approach to their pets health-care, and this course can help them do that,” she said.
“This course is also useful as a stepping stone for those wanting to enter the animal care industry or for those just starting out.
“It might seem daunting but this course is within most people’s capabilities, it is super interesting and will help save pets lives.”
This is just the first course that Ready Vet has launched on their online training academy and more are expected to follow.
