MAREEBA local Natalie White will now be seeing her shirt design donned on Pony Club Australia members all around the country after she won the national competition.

The competition judged 56 shirt designs from all corners of the country but 16 year old Natalie’s design stood out and spoke to the judges.

After being narrowed down to being in the top eight designs Natalie got a whopping 52 percent of the vote from all of the Pony Club Australia members, catapulting her to winning the competition.

Natalie was surprised when she was named the winner of the competition especially since she entered on a whim.

“It feels good to know that someone from up here can do something big,” she said.

“It was sort of a ‘why not’ decision to enter the competition.

“It’s good to see my design floating around everywhere.”

Natalie’s design incorporates what she loves about Pony Club – its ability to offer plenty of variety and the chance to learn new skills.

It also features silhouettes of six horse sports, show jumping, eventing, dressage, mounted games, camp drafting and sporting.

Pony Club Australia Board Director Juliet Skinner said that Natalie’s winning design will be worn by Pony Club Australia members all around the country.

“What we were looking for was a good design that would translate well to a shirt,” she said.

“This shirt can be used anytime but mainly during rallies when members are riding.

“This is a shirt that is now recognised all around Australia.”
