From Atherton, painter Rose Watts showcases her delicate use of colour and composition, while artist and educator Jaelene Durrand is featured for her finely detailed drawing exploring memory, place, and identity.

Kuranda is home to two of the region’s other finalists – digital artist Eunice McAllister, whose work pushes creative boundaries by blending technology with storytelling; and photographer Bernard Singleton, whose powerful imagery reflects the deep connection between people, Country, and culture.

The inclusion of these artists in such a prestigious exhibition underlines the strength of the arts in our region.

The QRAA is one of the state’s most significant showcases of regional arts practice. It celebrates artists who live and work outside the big cities, highlighting the unique perspectives that emerge from regional life.

People’s Choice voting is now open on the Flying Arts Alliance website, giving the community a chance to support the talent that calls the Tablelands and Kuranda home.
