Queensland Police are asking for assistance from the public in helping to identify family or friends who may have placed or are maintaining a roadside memorial on the Western side of the Kennedy Highway, between the intersections of Spena Road and Tichum Creek Quarry Road.

A police spokesperson said “Occasionally the memorials are positioned in areas where roadworks are required to be undertaken which in turn can require temporary removal of the memorials. These situations include road widening and general safety upgrades.”

“TMR has a policy whereby they work to identify and make contact with those associated with memorial placement and care, and working with them to achieve the best possible outcome for the reinstatement of memorials once works are completed.”

“We usually have a pretty good success rate but sometimes it can be difficult to track down those associated with the longer-standing memorials.”

Police are now seeking assistance in being put in touch with those who are associated with this particular memorial.
