Under the Queensland Government’s ‘Get Ready Queensland’ program Tablelands Regional Council (TRC) has launched free webinars for local businesses to support economic recovery and build resilience.
The ‘Get Ready Queensland’ program is a year round program that is helping all Queenslanders prepare for natural disasters.
The new webinars are focused on ensuring that local businesses are equipped with relevant and up-to-date business continuity information, skills and resources.
The first webinar will be hosted on Tuesday June 2 and the second one is set to be held the following day on Wednesday, June 3.
TRC Mayor Rod Marti said that these webinars are designed to assist businesses in planning for the future and operating during disasters.
“We need to ensure that we provide as much help as we can to local businesses to ensure they are resilient during disasters like pandemics, cyclones, fires and other disruptive events,” he said.
“This is especially important when you consider how long an event like COVID-19 could affect business.”
The webinars are facilitated by Continuity Planners Australia who is a national expert in continuity planning for organisations and help them plan for the future.
“They’ll cover details of COVID-19, the need to ensure the safety of your workforce, how to identify and minimise the impact of potential risks such as loss of key staff, inability to access critical products and supply chain challenges,” Mayor Marti said.
“They’ll also show you how to develop a plan for other business disruptions like technology failure, flooding, fire, cyclones, ect.
