Maize Festival set to get underway

THE countdown is on to this year’s Maize Festival, with a High Tea planned for this Saturday night.

The annual festival features three main events – the High Tea on 8 August, the Maize Ball on 15 August and the Main Street parade on 29 August.

The High Tea will be held at the Yungaburra Community Hall and promises to be an “afternoon of elegance, laughter, and community spirit”.

The following Saturday, the annual Maize Ball will be held at Merriland Hall. The event, which has a theme of “Back to the 80s”, includes a three-course meal, with a complimentary drink on arrival.
