Malanda delivers bucking action

SOME of the best bull riders around, including from New Zealand, delivered plenty of bucking action at the Malanda Bull Ride on Saturday.

NZ cowboy Rylee Ward took out the major prize, winning the Open Bull Ride and collecting $11,850, with Noah Dingle second and Lucas Taylor third.

Ward was also the winner of the Bounty Bull Ride which put another $1000 in his pocket.

The Butchers vs Bulock event was won by Sonny Riley Tranby from Cairns Butcher Supplies.

The Novice Bull Ride was won by Noah Dingle, followed by Rex Walker and Jake Simpson.

The 14-U18 event was taken out by Rex Walker, with Shane Dyer collecting second prize.

The Mini Bull ride honours went to Jack Dredge, followed by Carl Douglas Jnr and Chase Whitehouse. The Calf Ride was won by Chase Whitehouse, with Will Lahtinen second, and Tyson Ford third.
