Mamma Mia – here we go again
MALANDA Theatre Company is thrilled to announce the group has been granted the rights to perform “Mamma Mia” and is currently seeking interest in actors and backstage crew across the Tablelands.

This is the second time the company has applied for the rights, being rejected the first time and having to wait for over half a year for the second opportunity.
Director Gill Harrington said it was a long and nervous wait to hear the results back from the agents, hoping they would finally get to put on the iconic musical for the Tablelands community.
“After much nail biting and sleepless nights, we were given the go ahead in January and swung into action immediately,” she said.
“Creating a Greek Taverna on the Majestic Stage is a big task, so using the opportunity created by the temporary closure of the cinema set, building has begun.
“Malanda Theatre Company relies on volunteers so the next thing that needs to happen is to put together a Production Team – people to help with backstage, sound, lighting, publicity and, of course, be part of the band are welcomed," Gill said.
Auditions are set to take place in May, with the first set of rehearsals to take place later in June. Anyone from the age of 20 to 50 with acting, singing and dancing abilities are eligible to audition for lead roles, as well as a chorus of Greek villagers.
You can register your interest in being involved in any aspect of the production by messaging Malanda Theatre Company’s Facebook page or by contacting malandatheatre@gmail.com
Performance dates are November 18- 20, 25-27 and December 2-4.
