Man charged over brawl in Atherton
POLICE have charged a young Innisfail Estate man with multiple offences after he allegedly assaulted an Atherton teenager when a fight involving a group of people broke out recently.
It will be alleged that at around 3.40pm on 10 July, police were called to an Atherton address over a disturbance. Officers arrived shortly after and observed a group of people fighting, including a 27-year-old Innisfail Estate man and an 18-year-old male.
It will be further alleged the 27-year-old man punched the younger man, before he was arrested.
The Innisfail Estate man was charged with two offences including assaults occasioning bodily harm and obstruct police.
He is due to appear at the Atherton Magistrate’s Court on 29 July.
