Mareeba Assault
DETECTIVES from Tablelands Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a 35-year-old woman in relation to the alleged wounding of a man in Mareeba on Sunday night.
It will be alleged the woman attended an address where the altercation has occurred with a 40-year-old Normanton man.
During the altercation, the 40-year-old man has suffered a stab wound to the chest.
The man was driven to Mareeba Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Investigations led police to another address where the 35-year-old Normanton woman was taken into custody without incident.
She has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm (domestic violence) and contravention of a domestic violence order.
She was expected to appear before Mareeba Magistrates Court this week.
