Mareeba fighters show great spirit
MAREEBA’s Spirit Muay Thai fighters certainly showed great spirit in their bouts in Cairns over the weekend as youngster William Chaffey claimed a powerful win.
SMT fighters William Chaffey, Dima Kravchenko and Samson Levy travelled to Cairns over the weekend to take on some fierce competition.
Youngster William Chaffey claimed a strong win after defeating Nukzu’s Napo Gibia in the third round.
Kravchenko also put up a good performance in the “fight of the night” but unfortunately lost by split decision.
“They made it a war in there and to be fair it very well could have been a draw,” SMT coach Rosario Signorino said.
Levy took an unfortunate loss while battling on with an injury he picked up before the fight.
“All of them showed great skill and fought with a big heart, we are super proud of these boys,” Signorino said.
“Me and my brother Salvatore are super keen to see what the future holds for them and to keep growing the sport of muay thai in Mareeba.”
