Markets success

THE Mareeba Lions Club had another successful market day recently, where they held a sausage sizzle, handed out Care (Trauma) Bears to emergency services, and conducted free health checks.

Pictured is Lions member Trish Sexton checking the blood pressure of other Lions member Samantha Malcolm. On the day, 57 people had their blood pressure checked and 11 were identified as having a blood pressure problem. A further 50 people were checked for diabetes, with seven people identified as having an issue. Given the popularity of the free service, the Lions Club hopes to utilise it again within the next few months. The next markets will be held on Saturday 11 October.
