The station rolled up its doors for the local community to take a trip down memory lane, as well as meet their local paramedics.

Assistant Commissioner Far North Queensland Region, Brina Keating, said there had been a wonderful turnout for “such an important event to reflect, celebrate and acknowledge”.

A special centenary plaque was unveiled and a celebratory cake cut to commemorate the changes, advancements and sacrifices given over the past century.

Three Local Ambulance Committee (LAC) volunteers, Carole Nucifora, Andrea Bailey and Brigette Daley, also received recognition for 55 years of combined service to their community with a presentation of service medals.
