Millaa Millaa writers capture the story of place
A COLLECTION of short stories and poems celebrating the people, landscape, memories and spirit of Millaa Millaa will be launched at the Millaa Millaa Hotel this Sunday.
A Misty Mountain Anthology is a collection of original short stories and poems written by local writers and inspired by the landscapes, people, memories and experiences of life in and around Millaa Millaa.
Bringing together a wide range of voices and styles, the publication reflects the creativity and strong sense of community that exists within the region.
Developed over many months through workshops, writing sessions and collaborative editing, the anthology provides local writers with an opportunity to share their work with the wider community.
The project grew from a shared desire among local writers to celebrate the unique identity of Millaa Millaa. Contributors range from emerging writers to experienced community storytellers.
The official launch is from 4pm to 5.30pm, will include readings from contributors, opportunities to meet the writers, and the first public release of the anthology.
