Mining company earns finalist spot
EQ Resources, which operates the Mt Carbine tungsten mine, has been named a finalist in the Premier of Queensland Export Awards.

The mine is a finalist in the Sustainability and Green Economy category of the awards which will be announced at a gala dinner in Brisbane on 10 October.
EQ Resources has been operating the Mt Carbine mine for the past three years, with around 200 tonnes a month being produced from its open pit operation. It plans to develop its underground operations over the next two years, as well as investigate re-opening the Wolfram Camp mine near Dimbulah.
In 2022, the company was named the winner of the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies Environmental Award 2022 for supporting the transition to a low carbon future and the company’s commitment towards sustainable development of natural resources at its Mt Carbine mine.
Trade and Investment Queensland chief executive officer Justin McGowan said the Premier of Queensland Export awards showcased the innovation, resilience, and ambition of Queensland exporters.
“Queensland businesses are outpacing the competition, scaling globally from every corner of the state,” he said.
“From first-time exporters to seasoned global players, these finalists show the world what Queensland is capable of, smart, sustainable, and competitive. They’re not just exporting products; they’re exporting Queensland’s reputation for excellence.”
