More Trauma Bears to help kids

A FRESH supply of Trauma Bears to provide comfort to children and others experiencing distressing situations have been handed over to local emergency services personnel by the Mareeba Lions Club.

A FRESH supply of Trauma Bears to provide comfort to children and others experiencing distressing situations have been handed over to local emergency services personnel by the Mareeba Lions Club.

The initiative was made possible in part by a generous donation from an elderly community member who personally witnessed the calming effect a Trauma Bear had on a young child when an ambulance officer gave her one upon arrival at hospital. 

A Lions spokesperson said the organisation was pleased to support frontline emergency services and help ensure the bears were available when they were needed most.
