Multicultural festival
TRADITIONAL dancers are practising their moves and talented musicians are warming up their vocal cords in preparation for one of Mareeba’s most diverse and spectacular cultural events this Saturday.

The Mareeba Multicultural Festival is one of the most highly-anticipated events on the region’s calendar every year, giving locals and visitors a chance to immerse themselves in different cultures from around the world.
The Mareeba Shire is home to people from some 75 different nationalities and cultural backgrounds and the festival provides a forum to showcase their culture through dance performances and a variety of food stalls.
Hundreds of performers from around 20 different ethnic groups will give their best on the day, entertaining the crowd while they enjoy the wonderful food on offer.
There are also a selection of workshops on the day so visitors can try different cultural dances, as well as a blacksmithing on leather, and an arts workshop.
Festivities will kick off on Saturday from 10am at Arnold Park, with a parade of the cultures following non-stop entertainment, food and activities until 4pm. Entry is free.
