YUNGABURRA will be full of music and dance this month, with the Sunday in the Park concert to be hosted this weekend at the rotunda, and a dance night planned for town’s Community Hall on Valentine’s Day.

The soulful sounds of Sonic Bloom will take centre stage at the rotunda in Bruce Jones Park this Sunday from 4pm-6pm.

Led by Georgie and Tim Borella, with Nick Watling on drums and Neil Hodgson on bass, Sonic Bloom delivers a distinctive blend of rock, country, blues, and jazz, woven together with beautiful harmonies and thoughtful, heartfelt lyrics.

This is a free, family-friendly community event, and attendees are welcome to support the musicians with a direct donation to the band if they wish.

Next Saturday night, a community dance night promises to be a great occasion to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

To be held at the Yungaburra Community Hall in Cedar Street, the event is being organised by Yungaburra Beautification Inc (YBI) in conjunction with Lalli’s Op Shop, the Country Women’s Association (CWA), and the Yungaburra Men’s Shed, with the Men’s Shed operating the bar (cash only) on the night.

Popular local performers Joe and Wendy Paronella will provide live music, promising an enjoyable evening for dancers and music-lovers alike.

The event will run from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.

Everyone is encouraged to dress in red (celebrating Valentine’s Day), and there will be a prize for the best dressed couple.

Tickets are $20 per person, including supper, and are available online or can be purchased locally (cash only) from Pluto & Nessie and Lalli’s Op Shop.
