National audience for Historic Village Herberton
HISTORIC Village Herberton and the stories of the Atherton Tablelands’ pioneering past was showcased to a national audience last week in the new season of Going Places with Ernie Dingo.

Filming took place on location at the village, where Ernie explored the historic streets, heritage buildings and collections that bring the early days of Herberton to life.
Owners Craig and Connie Kimberley said the opportunity to feature on the long-running travel and culture series would help introduce the village and the Atherton Tablelands to new audiences across Australia.
“Filming at the village was a wonderful experience and we are looking forward to seeing Herberton’s stories shared with viewers around the country,” Craig said.
“Programs like Going Places with Ernie Dingo play an important role in helping to shine a light on regional destinations and the history and characters that make places like Herberton unique and absolutely worth visiting.”
The episode was broadcast on SBS on Friday and will also screen on NITV this Thursday at 7.30pm. It will be available to stream on SBS On Demand following the broadcast.
Historic Village Herberton has more than 60 original buildings and thousands of artefacts that reflect life on the Atherton Tablelands from the late 1800s.
