National award for Atherton IGA

ATHERTON’s Fresh St Market IGA has taken out the Large Meat Department of the Year award at the 27th IGA National Awards of Excellence.

Earlier this year, the local supermarket picked up an award for its meat department at a state-level awards ceremony. Now, it’s gone on to claim the same award at a national level.

Store director Matt Bowles said he and the team were thrilled with their achievement.

“We’re very proud of the extensive and great value meat offer and it’s no secret that it’s a community favourite,” he said.

“Thanks to our locals for supporting us, and to our team, we couldn’t do it without you.”

The store’s success comes from its provision of a cut-and-pack range to premium cuts and innovative flavours, including fresh, handcrafted sausages made in-store daily, alongside a fully serviced butchery counter.
