National honour made official
DIMBULAH’s very own Charles Khan was among many Queenslanders to attend a recent investiture ceremony at Government House, where he was officially presented with his Order of Australia Medal (OAM) by the Governor of Queensland.

Charles Khan OAM received his prestigious medal at Government House on 19 May, which was presented to him by Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeanette Young AC PSM.
“I felt quite overwhelmed and extremely proud, but I was super happy with how proud my family was – that was a real buzz,” he said.
“It was quite surreal to be awarded the honour by Her Excellency Jeanette Young and I was thrilled to be able to chat with her.”
Mr Khan was awarded his OAM for his service to the Dimbulah community, including the 31 years he spent serving in the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS). His full record of service includes:
