Art lover across the Tablelands are set to be spoiled as several new exhibitions open this month.
Art lover across the Tablelands are set to be spoiled as several new exhibitions open this month.
‘Survival’ is an exhibition of photo-artistic and sculptural works by artists Alison Faigniez and Gabi Sturman. The exhibition is in the Tableland Regional Gallery in Atherton from the September 29 until November 14 and is open from 10-2pm Tuesday to Saturday.
Climate change, endangered species and how humans value the natural landscape are of particular interest to Alison and Gabi.
Gabi has created sculptural representations of flora and fauna in singular works and collective installations. She works predominately with ceramics, recycled bronze and some mixed media. Alison uses her photos from travels in Australia and overseas as the foundation of fine artworks reflecting the survival challenges facing wildlife and people.

The Old Post Office Gallery in Atherton also has a new exhibition that opened on September 30.
Titled “From the Printroom”, The Tableland Region Art Society printing group will be showcasing an array of works and print techniques such as chine collie, key block cuts, reduction linocuts, monoprints, stencil and hand printing on fabric.
The Old Post Office Gallery is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 2pm and entry is free.
