New funds program for multicultural communities
MULTICULTURAL organisations will have access to a new $15 million funding program over the next five years to build stronger and more inclusive communities.

Announced by the State Government last week, community organisations, service providers and local councils will have access to $3.1 million per year, with individual grants valued at up to $172,000 per year.
The funding must be used to strengthen local initiatives which expand social and economic inclusion for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Minister for Multicultural-ism Fiona Simpson said the Community Action for a Multicultural Society program would strengthen community capability, build partnerships and improve access to services.
“This is about building a stronger and more connected Queensland,” she said.
“We want to empower local organisations to utilise their knowledge around the needs of their community to deliver practical initiatives.”
Applications close on 9 June 2026.
