New Mayor sworn in
TABLELANDS Mayor Kevin Cardew was officially sworn into office last week after notching up a decisive victory in the Mayoral by-election.
Mayor Kevin Cardew is sworn in by Tablelands Regional Council chief executive officer Nicola Stepanov last Wednesday.
Member for Hill Shane Knuth congratulated Cr Cardew on becoming the new Mayor.
“History will show, when a situation has gone awry, it takes a certain type of resilience and strength to go in the battlefield and set it right,” he said.

“The community has spoken, and Kevin Cardew has been elected to take on the role as the new Tablelands Regional Council Mayor.
“I extend a warm hand to Mayor Cardew and give every piece of encouragement and assistance when aligned with returning the council to representing the community.”
