Old rotunda to go

AN old rotunda in the grounds of the Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery will be pulled down and replaced.

AN old rotunda in the grounds of the Mareeba Pioneer Cemetery will be pulled down and replaced.

The rotunda contains the names of all those buried in the cemetery but because its stumps are rotten and it is not compliant with the Discrimination Disability Act, the structure must be replaced.

Mareeba Shire Council has confirmed it will be rebuilding the structure and the names presented within the current rotunda will be preserved and be a part of the new building.
