Pony club turns out
A HORSE sports finale was held by the Dimbulah Horse and Pony Club as they wrapped up a successful season of competition for the year.

The horse sports trophy weekend was the last opportunity for competitors to accumulate points before their presentation night.
“The club had a fantastic year – we had a really good run with weather all year, we made some improvements to the grounds and implemented a few changes to the way we ran the events,” club president Kris Geddes said.
“Event attendance grew and grew all year which was fantastic. We also had some very strong competition, especially in the junior and golden age groups.
“Our priority this year was to continue to build on horsemanship and sportsmanship. The friendships here are the best, they’re cheering each other on and really celebrating everyone’s efforts. They’re looking out for each other and loving on their horses and that’s what it’s all about.”
Five events were held throughout the year, with many competitors regularly being separated by just one point. The barrel race at the final event was tightly contested, with a championship laying in the balance of a win or a loss for some.
“To see it go that close down to the wire just shows how much everyone is bringing it and trying their best,” Mr Geddes said.
“The club extends it heartfelt thanks for the incredible generosity and support received throughout the year from our sponsors, the community and local businesses. Every contribution goes towards making the club even better, so thank you.
“Now, we turn the ponies out for a well-earned rest and start planning for a fantastic 2026.”
