Positive numbers at sales
WHILE regular cattle sales at Mareeba Saleyards continued last week, the previous week’s sales report indicated signs of a resurgence for the region’s cattle producers.

Highlights from the 745 total yarding at the June 9 Prime and Store cattle sales included:
• Droughtmaster Bulls topped the sale (highest $/hd value) returning $2423.17
• Crossbred steers made 410.2c/kg to weigh 424kg returning $1739.25/hd
• Top priced Heifers returned $1197.22/hd weighing 310kg; sold for 386.2c/kg
• Heavy cows made 310.0c/kg to weigh 590kg returning $1829.00/hd
• Brahman cross steers sold to a top of 422.2c/kg to weigh 340kg returning$1435.48/hd
The upcoming End of Financial Year Prime and Store Auction will be held at Mareeba Saleyards on Tuesday 23 June. Intending vendors are advised to contact their preferred agent with bookings.
