Premium wood craft at Torimba display
RAVENSHOE and surrounds will celebrate an intrinsic link with regional history and the timber industry as part of the 2025 Torimba Festival.

Once recognised worldwide for supplying the very best quality rainforest and other timber, especially high-quality cedar, walnut and other variety premium cabinet timbers, the accent remains on wood and craftsmanship through the annual Festival of the Forest woodcraft exhibition.
First staged in 1972 as part of the annual Torimba Festival, this competitive event covers a wide variety of woodcraft, furniture, sculpture and more.
Attracting entries from amateur and expert artisans from all over Queensland and interstate, the Festival of the Forest is also the popular centrepiece of Torimba Festival 2025 and will be open to the public at Festival Hall in Grigg Street, Ravenshoe with the grand opening on Saturday at 1.30pm.
The Festival of the Forest display will remain open to the public daily from Saturday between 9am and 5pm until 25 October.
Sections include novice, school, various and numerous disciplines of art, woodcraft, carving, and even pyrography (wood burning/burnishing design).
In keeping with crafts and trades from bygone eras, the annual Blacksmithing display & sales will be held at the railway reserve off Grigg Street.
