Organised by the Mareeba Lions and Rotary clubs, the sold-out event brought the community together to celebrate 125 years of rail history while raising funds to beautify the Mareeba Railway Station and create a welcoming space for locals and visitors alike.

Sunday’s event raised more than $18,000 for the project.

With three full carriages and 140 people on board, the overwhelming response to the event demonstrated the community’s pride in local history and its enthusiasm for preserving local landmarks for future generations.

The organisers extend their sincere thanks to everyone who purchased tickets, volunteered their time, supported the event and helped make the day possible, with special appreciation to the Savannahlander team and all sponsors and supporters.
