Range night closures are back again

SCHEDULED night closures on the Kuranda Range Road will start again this Sunday.

Full road closures enable construction activities to be completed that are not possible using single-lane closures or long traffic holds.

Construction is currently underway at four downslope sites including the major site, measuring up to 11m high, below the Henry Ross Lookout.

Repairs to this site are reaching a critical stage. The equipment required for the construction of the gabion retaining wall works requires access from the road surface, across both lanes.

The range road will be closed from 9pm to 4am, Sunday to Thursday nights, from this Sunday to Thursday 4 June.

Traffic will be let through once in each direction at midnight.

There are no scheduled night closures on Friday and Saturday nights.
