Reboot program to regenerate
FARMERS across the Atherton Tablelands are set to benefit from a new hands-on education program supporting the transition to regenerative agriculture, with the launch of “Reboot Your Farm.”

Regenerative agriculture works to actively improve the land and ecosystems rather than merely minimising harm.
It focuses on rebuilding soil organic matter, restoring degraded soil biodiversity, and enhancing natural cycles such as water, carbon, and nutrient flows.
The program is being delivered through the $3 million Atherton Tablelands Integrated Collaboration, jointly funded by the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program and Sustainable Table.
Reboot Your Farm combines face-to-face workshops, online sessions, and on-farm mentoring over four months from May to August to give participants the skills and support to implement regenerative practices tailored to their own properties.
The program will be led by tropical regenerative farmer Simon Mattsson from Soil Land Food, alongside experienced local producers from the Wet Tropics Soil Care Network.
Participants will explore key topics including soil health and biology, regenerative cropping and horticulture, biofertilisers and composting, grazing management and farm business transition support.
“This program is about farmers learning with other farmers and exploring practical ways to evolve their farm businesses,” Mr Mattsson said.
“Participants will build new skills, test different approaches, and – most importantly – gain the confidence and support needed to make changes, alongside others in the region already seeing results from regenerative methods.”
An information session and launch event will be held on 23 April from 1pm-3pm at Hallorans Hill, 15-17 Centenary Drive, Atherton.
