Rodeo action awaits
THE town of Mt Garnet will be firing on all cylinders when it hosts its annual races and rodeo event over the May Day long weekend.

The races and rodeo weekend is the single biggest event for the small town each year, which is always inundated with competitors and spectators alike.
The event will be held from 1-3 May, with Labour Day falling on 4 May – giving travellers an extra day to get home.
Over the first two days, Friday and Saturday, attendees can enjoy some live, country horse racing, with a five-race program for Friday and a seven-race card and Fashions on the Field contest set for Saturday.
This year’s races has a record-breaking $172,000 prize pool, which is sure to make for some exciting competition.
Both days will be kicked off with a Calcutta beginning at 9.30am and each night will be sung away at the cabaret, with Careless and Black Image providing live music until late.
All eyes then turn to Sunday when the cowboys and cowgirls will vie it out for a placing in their respective events to earn a share in the $38,000 prize money on offer.
The arena will come alive from 8am and events will roll out for the remainder of the day.
Following the rodeo on Sunday night will be a cabaret, where attendees can enjoy the final festivities of the weekend with some live music and an open bar.
Attendees can also enjoy a trade show, a live auction, rodeo action on the big screen, and a grand parade. There will be plenty of food and drink available, with a bar also running all weekend.
Event organisers have said there are strictly no dogs allowed at the event.
