Rodeo action delivers
THE Mareeba Rodeo was another eventful success, with thousands turning out to watch the nonstop action.

The rodeo was once again well contested and saw a particularly high number of nominations this year, but it was Josh Barnett who took out the All Round Cowboy award for the second consecutive year, while Jade Bott claimed the All Round Cowgirl.
Colby Edgar took out the Open Bull Ride after tallying up a 155.75 aggregate score over his two rides.

It was also a successful week for New South Wales folk, whose rodeo athletes delivered a win at the rodeo’s State of Origin event after their state won the big match at Suncorp Stadium last Wednesday night.

The 2026 Mareeba Rodeo All Round Cowboy and All Round Cowgirl awards went to Josh Barnett and Jade Bott. They were presented their awards by this year’s Queen and Princess.
