Tablelands author Frances Dall’Alba has released her ninth book.

Tablelands author Frances Dall’Alba has published book number 9, The Giving Star, and the third in her series “Sway of the Stars”.

“In keeping with my books, which heavily promote Queensland, this book will take a reader out to Richmond in western Queensland,” she said of her latest novel.

“Richmond is one of the three towns which form the dinosaur triangle and will incorporate the discovery of one very famous dinosaur fossil now showcased in all her glory in Richmond’s fabulous dinosaur museum – Kronosaurus Korner.”

In a brief plot outline, the book is about Sally Barkworth, who has relocated to outback Richmond, where her program to help troubled kids is finally on track.

She crosses paths with Ben Angwin over a missing cat and a broken mug. He’s in for a big surprise when he discovers Sally is in charge of the new project being run on his family’s property.

And yes, a partially exposed dinosaur fossil makes an appearance.

Frances began writing contemporary romance as a sideline to running the local hardware store with her husband on the Tablelands.

But as feedback from locals gave her more confidence, the hobby grew into a successful career which has also seen her nominated as a finalist in numerous Australian and New Zealand romance writers’ awards, as well as winning the 2022 The Koru Award for Best New Book – Romance Writers of New Zealand.

As her media profile says, when Frances isn’t writing, she is climbing mountains, searching for waterfalls and swimming across lakes.

Some of her favourite places include Lake Eacham, Wallaman Falls, and Attie Creek Falls.
