Roosters knocked out

THE Atherton Roosters Under 19s will not contest this year’s big game following a 30-12 loss in the preliminary final at the weekend.

The young Roosters have bowed out of the finals run after going down to the Ivanhoe Knights in Mossman on Saturday.

They seemed a good chance again this year after finishing the regular season in second place, however, the Knights proved too strong, outscoring them five tries to two.

The Roosters’ only points came from centre Nathaniel Ross and halfback Kayden Payne, with Ross converting both tries.

All Tablelands teams are officially out of the finals race ahead of this weekend’s grand final round at Barlow Park.
