Rotunda to host three concerts
YUNGABURRA’S rotunda in the park will be the scene of three free community events this month, with the first to be held this Saturday.

The Lakeside Community Church invites everyone to come together for the annual Yungaburra Traditional Christmas Carols which will kick off at 6pm with a free sausage sizzle.
A coffee van will be on-site for those who’d like to purchase a warm drink, and there’ll be free gift bags for primary school-aged children. Donations collected on the night will go toward supporting local school chaplaincy programs, helping young people across the district.
At 7pm, the evening continues with time of singing traditional Christmas carols together, including a performance by children from Yungaburra State School.
The story of Christmas, along with a message of hope, joy, and peace, will be shared.
Bring a chair or picnic rug. Free parking is available via Short Street, Yungaburra.
On Sunday, the rotunda will play host to Sonic Boom, which will perform at the final “Sunday in the Park” Concert for 2025.
Offering the musical talents of Geraldine and Tim Borella, joined by Nick Watling on drums and Neil Hodgson on bass, Sonic Boom’s sound is a captivating blend of rock, country, blues, and jazz, infused with soulful harmonies and thoughtful lyrics that speak straight to the heart.
The concert will be held from 4pm-6pm, with patrons invited to donate to the band if they wish.
Refreshments are available from The Whippy Express who will be onsite with coffee, ice cream and milkshakes. In case of rain, the concert will move to the town’s Community Hall which will be announced on the Yungaburra Rotunda Facebook page.
On Monday 22 December, the rotunda will again echo with the sounds of the season when the Yungaburra Beautification Inc and the Lions Club of Yungaburra host the 2025 Christmas Concert.
The event, which goes from 5.30pm-8pm, offers fun family activities, with kids able to enjoy a ride on the Yungaburra Lions train and get a special visit from Santa!
Additionally, Yungaburra Beautification Inc will draw the Christmas raffle on the night.
Bring a chair or rug to sit on, secure your spot on the front row lawn, and don’t forget to bring along battery-operated candles to sing along with beloved local duo, Joe and Wendy Paronella.
Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Yungaburra Lions Food Van and The Whippy Express, starting at 5.30 pm, and parking is accessible via Short Street, Yungaburra.
In case of rain, the concert will be relocated to the Recreation Shed on Barrine Road, Yungaburra.
