For 75 years, Nuffield Australia has invested in people to build the future of Australian agriculture. Scholars travel, research, challenge assumptions and return from 15 weeks of overseas study, with ideas that strengthen businesses, regions and entire sectors.

Nuffield Australia Chair and 2008 scholar Jane Bennett said the scholarship was widely recognised as the pinnacle of industry-based learning.

“Through Nuffield, scholars gain access to global networks and perspectives that challenge how we think about agriculture,” Ms Bennett said.

The scholarship allows recipients to undertake self-directed research on a topic relevant to Australian agriculture, travelling internationally to collaborate with farmers, researchers, policymakers and industry leaders before sharing their findings back home.

Around 20 scholarships are awarded each year across a range of agricultural industries. Some scholarships focus on specific sectors or priority areas, while others are open to applicants from across the food and fibre supply chain.

Applications close on 8 May, with successful recipients to be announced at the Nuffield Australia National Conference in Darwin on 9-10 September.
