School shaves heads for a cure

IN honour of former groundskeeper Terry Aqualina, Mareeba State High School’s current groundskeeper Tom Mitchell and Grade 12 student Saxon Turner raised $736.50 for the Cancer Council’s World’s Greatest Shave.

Several students gathered during their lunch break to get their hair coloured with hairspray for a donation and to watch the two shavers meet the clippers. 

Money raised from the event will help assist the Cancer Council in life saving research projects.
