Search is on for relatives
THE search is on for relatives of two people who lost their lives while constructing the Barron River bridge at Kuranda.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is searching for the relatives of Lionel Moody and Alexander Lucuz (sometimes spelled Lukus) who died in 1962 during the construction of the bridge.
A memorial to the former bridge builders was installed in 1995, but it will need to be temporarily removed and stored for safekeeping during construction of the replacement bridge.
TMR wants to speak to any relatives or descendants to discuss a permanent location for the memorial once the new bridge is completed.
If you are a relative or know someone who might be, call the Barron River Bridge Replacement Project team on 1800 187 937, or email barron_river_bridge@tmr.qld.gov.au
