ILLEGAL dumping in the Mareeba Shire rose sharply during April, with councillors told a ute-load of rubbish was dumped at council’s recycled collection point in Arara Street.
Council recorded four tonnes of illegally
dumped waste in April, double the amount-from the previous month. Local laws officers were able to identify the culprits through items in the rubbish and spoke to the property owner, advised them that if they were caught again, they would be fined.
