The 2026 Queensland Information Centres Association (QICA) Conference is an annual event which will “shine a spotlight” on Mareeba and the region, Shire Deputy Mayor Lenore Wyatt said.

The conference brings together Information Centre managers and tourism professionals from across Queensland for up to three days of professional development and networking, as well as showcasing the unique tourism offerings of the host region.

“Hosting the 2026 conference is a fantastic opportunity to ... highlight the incredible attractions, operators, and visitor experiences our region has to offer,” Cr Wyatt said.

“It will bring industry leaders into our community, open doors for new collaborations, and further strengthen the Shire’s position as a key player in Queensland’s tourism landscape.”

“We look forward to welcoming delegates in 2026 and working with our partners to make the event a success,” she added.

“We will be calling on operators to get involved and showcase their businesses to a statewide audience.”

More details will be shared as planning gets underway.
