Sketchbooks inspire latest show
ATHERTON artist Graeme Draper is having an exhibition, From My Sketchbook, at the Old Post Office Gallery in August.
The popular artist has many solo and group shows under his belt, and the new paintings are created from his sketchbooks going back many years.
Graeme is well loved for his works based on the Fauvism style of the early 1900s in France, which emphasised simplification, abstraction and strong colour.
His pictures reduce the Tablelands landscapes to unforgettable, brightly coloured scenes that aim to bring a smile to your face and brighten any room.
The exhibition will run from 11 August – 26th September at the Old Post Office Gallery, 86 Herberton Road, Atherton.
Graeme will be hosting an opening event on Friday, 14 August, at 5pm at the Gallery and invites friends, fellow artists and art-lovers to join him and celebrate his lifelong passion for his art.
